We have invested in a new feeder for the chooks. There have been a lot of sparrows seen in the chooks house and they have been eating a lot of their food. We splashed out and purchased a Grandpa’s Chook Feeder. It apparently takes a couple of weeks to train the chooks to use it properly so the lid gets propped up while they figure it out. Eventually though it is supposed to work by keeping the lid closed until the chickens stand on the platform which will make it open it up. They are into week 2 of their training now. We think it will take a year or 2 for it to pay for itself.
