We just finished our first HelpX experience and it was great. HelpX is where hosts put a profile of themselves onto the website, and helpers, normally travellers, make contact and arrange to come and stay. They get food and accommodation in exchange for 4 hours work per day. There are also profile of the helpers and we can make contact with them if we want.

We were contacted by Jo from England who was looking for somewhere for 10 days before returning home. She had been travelling for a couple of years and had done about 6 HelpX stays. It wasn’t difficult to come up with a list of things we needed help with and she ripped into it.

Is that Noah in the ute?

We also got some wallpaper stripped, walnut leaves raked, some meals cooked as well as general cleaning.  It worked out really well and we are looking forward to our next helper.
