I finally have my ute! It is a 1973 Austin A60.
It made the trip from Auckland to Wellington on a truck and I picked it up yesterday.
Today I crossed over on the ferry and drove it home. It didn’t miss a beat and it got lots of admiring looks and comments. It came with plenty of spare parts, including glass, a gearbox, radiator, a seat and a set of wheels.

Did you wear your brown suit for the maiden voyage??
Comment by Andrew May 14, 2010 @ 9:43 pmWasn’t brave enough for that! Thought I might have had to change tyres or things like that, but I needn’t have worried!

Comment by Anya May 15, 2010 @ 8:55 amHey Chris, nice wheels. Does it have a bench seat so the whole family can travel together?? I’m guessing there’s no front airbags!!
Comment by Sara May 15, 2010 @ 12:02 pmNo, no airbags. I am working on how I can get the car seat in. At the moment it just has 2 seat belts so some modifications will be required.
